6-year-old noah pozner, who was among the 20 children killed at sandy hook elementary told anderson there were fake websites, facebook pages and e-mails going around asking for donations in noah's name. drew griffin and producer david fitzpatrick tracked one of those e-mails to a woman in the bronx. her name was noelle alba, and went to her house. here is what happened next. >> oh, hi, are you ms. alba? you set up, you say, donations on behalf of one of the victims of the newtown tragedy. >> no. >> no? your name and your address on the e-mail? can i come in with a camera crew? no? >> alba eventually agreed to let her voice be recorded and denied she had anything to do with the e-mail asking for donations. here's more of what she told producer david fitzpatrick. >> this has your e-mail on it right there. this is about noah pozner's funeral. >> i never sent that. >> take a look at it, ma'am. it's got your e-mail all over it. look at the second page. gives your paypal account and a bank routing number you say you set up. >> that's not my paypal account. i mean, i have a paypal account

and the unimaginable damage from superstorm sandy and more. >>> we'll start with another winter storm getting ready to wallop a large swath of the country. maria larosa has the details. >> it places like arkansas just a few days ago under blizzard warnings. now we're talking about freezing rain advisories. also, the winter weather advisories. you see the advisories stretch back into the ohio valley, back into the northeast. that's basically the trail of the snow with this next system. so over the next 24 to 48 hours we'll see it develop. it will continue through the south with thunderstorms and showers. not to the extent of the severe weather with the last round, but you can see enough cold air you start to see the snow develop from ohio to pennsylvania. moving into d.c. overnight tonight, into philadelphia and new york by saturday morning and on up into boston by saturday afternoon. it's a quick mover. generally speaking, the snow totals will be on the light side. we'll start in the next 24 hours. ohio valley, indianapolis, you could end up with an additional 3 to 6 inches of snowfall. as it moves

on, getting aid to victims of superstorm sandy. by a 61-33 vote the chamber passed a measure offering $60 billion in help. it heads to the house which must approve the bill by thursday or else the process to consider the money has to start all over again. at least 113 people were killed when superstorm sandy hit in late october. the governors of new york and new jersey, the hardest hit states, have estimated damages at more than $78 billion. >>> and turning to weather. even though winter is just over a week old, millions of americans probably can't wait for spring to arrive. me, as well, yes. scenes like this in maine are playing out all across the country as snow is now on the ground in almost 65% of the lower 48 states. at least everybody's enjoying it together. look at this video from arkansas where -- in little rock, they posted a record-breaking nine inches on christmas day. and for some of you, yay, not over yet. let's bring in meteorologist bonnie schneider for a look at what is on top for today. is there an end in sight for -- >> no. no. we've got more snow, more wind and rain

school because dad is going. that was pretty tricky. it is a wonderful program. dr. sanford kay, sandy kay, talked creative writing and he is thanked in there book. no sandy kay, no book. strange wandering paths that met from my father reciting churchill to sandy kay and i'm a feature writer who meets manchester and like winston churchill i'm not a big believer in favorite but these were like a bunch of slips that did tphno pass on the,scene in the night and i couldn't manuimagine all these paths meeting and joining and here we are. host: back to the writing aspect of it itself, how did you write? what kind of -- long hand or give us the atmosphere where you wrote and what time of day and what did you write with? guest: well, i would use stick 'ems in the books i was referring it and in june of 1941 and i tried to color code them and that didn't work. my office looks like somebody who needs mental health help. it looked messy but it was madness, there was method in the madness. and i wrote directly to the comput computer, the word processor. i would write -- i don't want to say drafts.

sandy which obviously affected millions of people and really caught the public's imaginationment but it didn't end. coverage of other hurricanes h there is a beginning, a middle and an end. the fact is what sandy did or seems to have done is to take the idea of climate change from an abstraction something that scientists and experts debated, to something that millions of people along the east coast and in manhattan and staten island and the other boroughs in new york city experienced for themselves and it started a debate. we don't know obviously what the long-term consequences are, but it does suggest there is something different about this story and its long-term implications. >> woodruff: and it's interesting, michael, because we've had big storms in this country before. >> sure. >> woodruff: but there was something different about this one? >> i think people are getting a little more alert to it politically. and one thing that historians of the future do is if something terrible happens if climate change over the next 50 years or so achieve great injury to this earth historia

"response activities for hurricane sandy" and replaces it with "purposes provided herein." a minor -- small verbal change. but response activities has unlimited meaning. this change does clarify that funds may be used to cover additional recovery and related costs connected to hurricane sandy. second it adds the phrase "to make grants" to clarify that the department of h.h.s. has specific grant-making authority for renovating, repairing and rebuilding nonfederal facilities involved in n.i.h. research. for example an academic center of excellence well known for its work particularly in cancer research will have the opportunity to rebuild. i recommend the support of this amendment. senator shelby has signed off on it. i believe it is not controversial. c.b.o. says it does not adversely -- it does not score at all. and i understand that the minority staff on labor-h.h.s. has also signed off on those changes. mr. president, that amendment too will be voted on tomorrow if not accepted. tonight we're just not accepting amendments and we're not voice voting them. i also want to note that we have t
